Fiery and Colordyne Technologies Partner to Deliver an Integrated Workflow for the Xaar Versatex Printbar

Colordyne integration of Fiery Impress with Xaar Versatex streamlines digital embellishment for label and packaging converters

Fiery and Colordyne Technologies Partner to Deliver an Integrated Workflow for the Xaar Versatex Printbar

BROOKFIELD, Wis. — Colordyne Technologies and Fiery today announced an integrated workflow that combines Fiery® Impress® Digital Front End (DFE) with the Xaar Versatex Printbar, streamlining digital embellishment and specialty printing production for label and packaging converters.

Through Fiery Impress and Fiery Command WorkStation®, operators can begin with a layered PDF, isolate varnish or other specialty print content, adjust tonal curves and screening to control build height and appearance, apply an application-specific preset, and send the prepared output to the Xaar Versatex Printbar. Keeping these steps within the Fiery workflow reduces separate file conversions and repeated edits in design applications, making job setup, testing and refinement more efficient.

This integration is about making digital embellishment practical on the production floor. Operators can work from the customer’s PDF, separate the embellishment layer and adjust build height, gloss and texture using familiar Fiery tools. That gives converters a faster, more repeatable path from artwork to a finished premium effect.

Xaar Versatex Printbar is designed for integration with new or existing analog presses, finishing systems and converting lines. Depending on its configuration, Versatex supports applications including spot and high-build varnish, matte and gloss effects, textures, digital cold foiling, high-opacity white, braille, black variable data, and personalization.

Versatex was developed to make digital embellishment and specialty printing easier to add to equipment converters already own. Pairing its high laydown capability and application flexibility with Fiery Impress gives operators greater control over the finished result and a more direct path from file preparation to production.
Justin NobleDirector of Products and Applications, Xaar

The workflow can be deployed whether the Xaar Versatex Printbar is paired with a Fiery Driven® Colordyne full-color digital engine or integrated with a third-party press or finishing system, enabling converters to add digital embellishment capabilities without replacing existing production assets. In mixed environments, Fiery JobFlow Pro™ can automatically route the appropriate content to both the embellishment and print workflows, helping operators maintain a streamlined PDF-based workflow across multiple production systems.

Fiery Impress is a digital front end and workflow solution for industrial inkjet production that combines high-performance RIP and streaming technology, advanced color management, image quality controls, and workflow automation in a single platform. Designed for label, packaging, publishing, and other industrial print applications, Fiery Impress helps press manufacturers bring new solutions to market faster while enabling print providers to maximize productivity, reduce complexity, and achieve consistent, high-quality output.

Industrial inkjet printing delivers the most value when powerful technology is paired with a workflow operators can use confidently. Extending the familiar Fiery experience to Versatex helps converters adopt digital embellishment while maintaining the consistency and control they expect in production.
