Go Retro with Colordyne
We aren’t talking about taking a trip to pop culture’s past. It’s time to step into this decade – with a digital inkjet retrofit. Colordyne specializes in integrating digital print engines onto both new and existing flexo presses or web handling systems. This technique gives new life, and a modern advantage, to equipment that has already been invested in by creating a digital hybrid work-center.
There are a lot of options to choose from when purchasing new digital inkjet equipment: standalone presses with offline finishing, complete presses with in-line finishing or even hybrid presses that incorporate flexo technology. Often, though, questions arise with these standalone presses, like, “Where am I going to put it?” or, “Will I have the jobs to fill my digital press capacity?”
There’s no doubt that now is the right time to build a digital business. So Colordyne developed its 3600 Series Retrofits to provide innovative answers to those questions.
How It Works
Colordyne offers two digital inkjet retrofit solutions, the 3600 Series AQ – Retrofit, which uses water-based inkjet technology, and the 3600 Series UV – Retrofit, which uses UV inkjet technology. Retrofits are quickly and easily installed because they are compact and can be mounted on top of an existing flexo press, requiring no additional space on the press room floor. Additionally, they do not require air, exhaust or extra power.
Retrofitting lets the operator maintain full use of their flexo press. This allows them to run digital, flexo and hybrid jobs on the same piece of equipment and maintain flexibility in their production.
Cost-Effective: Retrofitting combines low capital cost and the value of existing converting assets to deliver affordable and responsive short- to medium-run digital business.
Time Savings: Reduce changeover times on-press and produce finished labels and tags more quickly by implementing job chaining and eliminating plate setup.
New Business: Users can cost-effectively enter new markets and keep up with rapidly changing production trends, such as personalized and seasonal packaging, with digital and hybrid print capabilities.
High Quality: Both the water-based and UV inkjet technology offer high resolution, top-tier quality printing.
Low Component Count: With fewer components than its counterparts, upgrades and maintenance are completed in less time, keeping the press running more.
