Taylor Buckthorpe, Director of Sales

The Future of Digital Print: How Pigment Inkjet is Creating New Opportunities

During this presentation, Taylor will provide insight into the next generation of digital print technology. Learn how pigment inkjet reduces costs, improves print quality and offers greater production flexibility.

Speaker Bio:

With 12 years of experience in the digital print and graphics industry, Taylor Buckthorpe has developed a robust knowledge and skill set, specifically dedicating more than the past seven years to advancing digital print. In his current position as the Director of Sales at Colordyne Technologies, Taylor is focused on expanding Colordyne’s industry relationships and sales channels. Taylor has been an integral part of Colordyne’s growth since joining in 2012, previously holding the positions of Product Manager and Director of Market Development. During this time, he played a key role in the design and execution of Colordyne’s 3600 Series presses and helped produce Colordyne’s current business development strategies. Prior to Colordyne, Taylor was instrumental in new product development for Barcodes West, a division of ID Label, focusing on both beta development for Colordyne and the implementation of new variable data imaging technologies. Furthermore, Taylor leverages a background in wide format graphics and signage from his tenure at Genisys Credit Union where he managed in-house print production for their 25+ locations. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in International Business with concentrations in Marketing, Management, and Finance from the University of Michigan.

Eric Owen, General Manager of Commercial Press

Why Modules?

Most printhead manufacturers provide you with the printhead and leave sub-system development to the OEM partner. Memjet General Manager, Eric Owen, will discuss why Memjet took a different approach by developing modular printing technology and how this modular architecture creates peak printhead optimization to enable Colordyne’s sub-OEM integration partners to successfully deliver on business plans.

Speaker Bio:

Eric Owen is the General Manager of Commercial Press for Memjet that includes Label, Commercial, and Packaging Solutions. Eric oversees the sales, marketing and distribution activities for the business unit to increase awareness and adoption of Memjet technology.

Stephen Buchanan, R&D Chemist

Inkjet – What’s the Difference?

Stephen will discuss the key differences between water-based dye, water-based pigment and UV inkjet inks. The presentation will focus on inkjet advancements in the industry and key advantages of using water-based pigment inks for print production.

Speaker Bio:

Stephen Buchanan graduated from Xavier University in 2013, with a BS in Chemical Science. Stephen began his early career with Q Laboratories, Inc., where he performed analytical test methods to validate nutritional and pharmaceutical products. In 2014, Stephen transitioned his career into the printing industry by joining Kao Collins. He currently serves as an R&D chemist where he is actively engaged in developing energy curable inkjet products. His primary objective is to consistently output innovative digital solutions geared towards solving unique customer printing demands.
